Water ring vacuum pump working principle

Add time:2018-09-24 21:32 Hits:

With the rapid development of vacuum application technology, water ring vacuum pumps have been paid attention to in the acquisition of rough vacuum. Since the gas compression in the vacuum pump is isothermal, the flammable and explosive gas can be removed, and the dusty and water-containing gas can be removed. So what does it work like?

1. The water ring vacuum pump was originally used as a self-priming pump. It is composed of an impeller, a pump body, an intake and exhaust disk, a water ring formed by water on the inner wall of the pump body, an air inlet, an exhaust port, and an auxiliary exhaust valve. In many processes of industrial production, such as vacuum water diversion, vacuum evaporation, vacuum resurgence, etc., water ring pumps are widely used.

2. Install an appropriate amount of water in the pump body as the working fluid. When the impeller rotates clockwise in the figure, the water is thrown around by the impeller. Due to the centrifugal force, the water forms a closed ring of approximately equal thickness depending on the shape of the pump chamber. The inner surface of the lower portion of the water ring is just tangent to the impeller hub, and the upper inner surface of the water ring is just in contact with the tip of the blade (actually the blade has a certain depth of insertion within the water ring).

3. A crescent-shaped space is formed between the impeller hub of the water ring vacuum pump and the water ring, and this space is divided by the impeller into a plurality of small cavities equal to the number of blades. If the lower part of the impeller is used as the starting point, then the volume of the small cavity becomes smaller from 180° before the rotation, and it is connected to the suction port on the end face. At this time, the gas is sucked in. When the inhalation is finished, the small cavity is Isolated from the suction port; when the impeller continues to rotate, the small cavity becomes larger and smaller, so that the gas is compressed; when the small cavity communicates with the exhaust port, the gas is discharged outside the pump.

4. The impeller is eccentrically installed in the pump body. When the impeller rotates, the water entering the water ring vacuum pump will be thrown around by the impeller. Under the action of centrifugal force, the water forms an equal thickness similar to the shape of the pump cavity. Close the water ring. The upper inner surface of the water ring is just tangent to the impeller hub, and the lower inner surface of the water ring is just in contact with the blade tip.

5. A crescent-shaped space is formed between the impeller hub and the water ring, and this space is divided by the impeller into a plurality of small cavities equal to the number of blades. If the upper part of the impeller is 0°, the volume of the small cavity gradually becomes smaller and larger, the pressure is continuously reduced, and the air inlet of the suction and exhaust disk is connected with the small cavity. The pressure in the space is lower than the pressure in the pumped container. According to the principle of gas pressure balance, the pumped gas is continuously drawn into the small cavity, and is in the process of inhalation.

6. When the suction of the water ring vacuum pump is completed, it will be isolated from the suction port. From the II-II to III-III section, the volume of the small cavity is gradually decreasing, and the pressure is continuously increasing. At this time, the compression process is in progress. When the compressed gas reaches the exhaust pressure in advance, the exhaust is advanced from the auxiliary exhaust valve. From the section III-III to I-I, the volume of the small cavity communicating with the exhaust port further reduces the further increase of the pressure. When the pressure of the gas is stronger than the exhaust pressure, the compressed gas is taken from the exhaust port. Exhaust, during the continuous operation of the water ring vacuum pump, the process of suction, compression, and exhaust is continuously performed, thereby achieving the purpose of continuous pumping. A brief understanding of how the water ring vacuum pump works helps to better operate the equipment. This can also reduce the occurrence of some problems in the use, after understanding these, the daily maintenance of the equipment, etc., will be more convenient to do.
